September 26th

This is turning out to already be a busy week.  We are still working hard to deliver the most musical performance that we can, along with also getting ready for the GattiLand Lock-In on Friday night and inventorying the new dresses.  Some reminders

1. Gattiland Lock-In costs $30 and will be payable at the restaurant only.  We still need chaperones and are expecting over 150 students to attend. 
2. Students must be signed in and out of Gattiland by an adult and have a completed permission trip from.  The permission forms will be sent home Tuesday and we will have some on hand for those who do not get theirs in on time
3. Dresses are in and we need helper moms to be ready as we need to begin fittings as soon as possible.

September 19-23

Parents,

Last week on Friday we sent home the Gattiland information letter.  Please look for that if you have not received it yet.  In addition, we will be sending home the medical release form on Tuesday or Wednesday.  This form must be completed prior to your child going on any trip.  It only needs to be filled out once a year.

This week we will work more on music theory in all classes, focusing on foundational learning.  The students are improving daily and Mrs. Fincher and I are really proud of them.  Our October concert is only a month away, and we are excited to present some music to you.

Fundraiser wrap up

Parents, if you have not done so, please register your child on www.charmsoffice.com  You will be able to track progress of the fundraiser there as well as calendar and other items.  We still have a few fundraiser forms out, so get those turned in ASAP.

This week we will be celebrating the 197th anniversary of the National Anthem and will perform it on Thursday for the entire student body over the phone announcements (hope we sound ok through the phone) 

We are also working on more music theory and have several vocabulary words to learn this week, they are:

Parent Meeting and Fundraiser

Tuesday night will be our annual parent meeting.  This meeting should last only about 30-45 minutes.  The meeting begins at 6:00pm in the cafeteria.  We will use this time to complete any volunteer sign ups and to have a short review on the charms website.  If you don't remember how to use charms, here is a quick reminder.

Charms is used to exchange email, share calendar dates, keep track of uniforms, music and finances.  Parents will be able to see if their child’s fundraising money has been deposited as well as check on field trip payments.  Each student is required to have a charms account and it is free to the students and parents.

1. Go to www.charmsoffice.com
2. Find the Parent/Student login
3. Enter the school code:  deerparkmschoir
4. On the next screen, enter your child’s student ID number as a password
5. Click on “student info” and enter your information
6. Click “update” when complete.  If this step is skipped, no information will be saved and the process must be restarted.
7. Download the “Charms Login Steps” document to your computer and add charms to your favorites list.

Don't forget that fundraising is due on Friday.  40% of all money raised goes directly to the students trip cost.  Thank you
